JDT’s Dominic Tan Seals Permanent Move to Police Tero

Johor Darul Ta’zim’s Malaysia international defender Dominic Tan has sealed a permanent move to newly-promoted Thai League 1 side Police Tero ahead of the 2020 season.
Tan spent the second half of last season on loan with Police Tero and helped guide the Fire Dragons back into the top flight at their first attempt after their relegation at the end of 2018.
The 22-year-old defender has made a number of appearances for Malaysia’s U23 side, including at the recent Asian Games, and has even been capped by the senior national team on a few occasions. Even so, he has struggled to break into the first team at JDT, making only one single Super League appearance for the Southern Tigers since joining in 2016.

Clearly looking for a new challenge, this move seems to suit both Tan and Police Tero. Under their previous name, BEC Tero, the club was responsible for the development of various Thai National Team stars, including Chanathip Songkrasin, Tanaboon Kesarat, Adisorn Promrak, and Peerapat Notchaiya among others.
Widely renowned as one of the nation’s biggest clubs during their heydey, the club have since fallen on hard times. Survival will be the priority next season for the Fire Dragons, and the addition of Dominic Tan should give them a big boost in that pursit.
