Kesultanan Johor sejak dahulu menjadi simbol perpaduan dan penyatuan Bangsa Johor yang terdiri daripada pelbagai kaum. Selain pembinaan masjid-masjid, Sultan Sir Ibrahim berkenan mengurniakan tanah bagi pembinaan rumah ibadat Cina, Kuil Hindu serta Sikh dan Gereja, malah ianya berada dalam jarak yang dekat antara satu dengan lain.
Selain itu, Sistem Kangchu telah diperkenalkan kerajaan Johor kepada pengusaha tanaman Gambir dan Lada Hitam yang terdiri dari kaum Cina. Ia merupakan sistem efisien yang pertama seumpamanya di Tanah Melayu. Tanaman-tanaman lain seperti kopi dan getah turut menjadi faktor penghijrahan pekerja ladang dari Ceylon ke Johor.
Kaum India pula menyumbang kepada limpahan tenaga kerja yang diperlukan ketika Johor mula meluaskan sektor perladangan. Kepelbagaian praktis agama serta budaya kehidupan oleh kaum-kaum yang menetap di Johor juga diberi penekanan di dalam Undang-Undang Tubuh Kerajaan Johor. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

The Johor Sultanate has always been a symbol of unity and harmony for the multi-racial Bangsa Johor. Besides the construction of mosques, Sultan Sir Ibrahim also awarded land for the construction of places of worship for the Chinese, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians, which were all located near each other.
Besides that, the Kangchu system was introduced by the Johor government for black pepper and gambier planters, who were from the Chinese race. It was an efficient system, the first of its kind in Malaya. Other produce such as coffee beans and rubber were also contributing factors of workers migrating from Ceylon to Johor.
As for Indians, they contributed the much needed manpower when Johor was developing the plantation sector. Various religions and cultures practiced by all races living in Johor were given an emphasis in the Johor State Constitution. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
