Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

INTERESTING FACTS | HISTORY OF JOHOR | THE EARLIEST MODERN DEVELOPMENT MODEL OF MALAY MONARCHY - PART FOUR
The prosperity of rakyat and state began with a smooth administrative system and understanding between the Palace and its government. The Sultan of Johor's visits to developed states in Europe in the mid 19th century brought home an administrative style and advancement that eventually became a reference for other Malay states.
Sultan Sir Abu Bakar decreed that all openings of new city centres and settlements in every district must have government offices and business buildings. Dato' Bentara Luar, who had Islamic and Western education, was an expert in town planning.
After opening Muar in 1884, with Padang Endau or Endau already having government offices, schools and mosques, His Majesty decreed for the opening of a new town Mersing in 1892. The increase in development from year to year was due to the discovery of iron ore in Jemaluang and small merchant ships beginning to enter from Singapore.
Looking at the progress, Sultan Sir Ibrahim decreed that all Johor district commissioner offices, courts and government offices to be moved to Mersing. The rapid development also saw the same transition in other districts such as Pontian, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Segamat, Kota Tinggi and Tangkak.
The Johor Sultanate's dedication and courage to move forward for the sake of Johor continuing to develop and progress could be seen from today's results. Through visits of HM Sultan Ibrahim, Sultan of Johor, to overseas with government officials or in a personal capacity, development and investment opportunities have been brought to Johor.
Meanwhile HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, through Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT), has been able to make Johor's name well known around the world through the club's success. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
