Perpaduan adalah elemen utama negeri Johor yang membantu menjadikannya sebuah negeri yang sentiasa kehadapan sejak permulaan detik pemodenannya pada 1840an oleh Temenggong Seri Maharaja Daing Ibrahim.
Rakyat pada ketika itu menyanjung penuh revolusi kepimpinan pemerintah negeri Johor yang tekad membawa pemerintahan Johor keluar dari corak yang biasa. Muafakat di antara Raja dan rakyat dihargai dan didakwatkan oleh Sultan Sir Abu Bakar di dalam Perlembagaan bertulis pertama di rantau ini iaitu Undang-Undang Tubuh Kerajaan Johor pada tahun 1895.
Konsep “Muafakat Itu Berkat” diterapkan dalam Undang-Undang Tubuh dengan tidak boleh diubah selamanya. Ia seterusnya diperkukuhkan kepada istilah Bangsa Johor oleh Sultan Sir Ibrahim pada tahun 1920an yang mula di perkenalkan pada judul lagu Negeri Johor.
Muafakat dan Bangsa Johor merupakan refleksi keakraban Raja Pemerintah dan Rakyat di negeri Johor ini secara formalisasi. Kedua istilah tersebut terus diperkasakan oleh Istana Johor sehingga ke hari ini menjadi pengikat keutuhan hubungan Raja dan rakyat di negeri ini.
Peringatan Sultan Iskandar “Anggap diri lebih rendah dari rumput” membentuk keperibadian DYMM Sultan Sir Ibrahim dan DYAM Tunku Mahkota Ismail Pemangku Raja setiap kali mencemar duli bertemu rakyat di pelbagai daerah. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

Unity is a key element of Johor that has helped it to become a state that always looks forward since its modernisation in the 1840s by Temenggong Seri Maharaja Daing Ibrahim.
The rakyat at that time admired the revolutionary leadership of the Johor ruler who was dedicated in breaking the Johor governance out of the mould. Concord between the ruler and rakyat was appreciated and emphasised by Sultan Sir Abu Bakar in the first written constitution in the region, the Johor State Constitution, in 1895.
The "Concord Is A Blessing" concept was stated in the State Constitution that it forever cannot be changed. It was further strengthened by the Bangsa Johor term by Sultan Sir Ibrahim in the 1920s, which was introduced through the Johor state anthem.
The concord and Bangsa Johor are reflections of strong ties between the ruler and rakyat in Johor in formality. Both terms have been emphasised by the Johor Palace that to this day they have tied together the relationship between the Ruler and rakyat in this state.
Sultan Iskandar's reminder to "always think of yourself lower than a blade of grass" has been instilled into HM Sultan Ibrahim and HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Regent of Johor, every time meeting the rakyat in different districts. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
