Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) forward Safawi Rasid finished the 2019 Malaysia Super League campaign as the top local goalscorer with eight goals, an increase from the six he scored in 2018. [1/4]

In addition to the eight goals scored, the 22-year-old also made six assists as he combined well with Diogo Luis Santo and Gonzalo Cabrera to spur the Southern Tigers' attack.

This is the second consecutive explosive season for Safawi. Last year, Safawi was JDT's overall top goalscorer with 16 goals in all competitions.

He has scored nine in total thus far - including one in the AFC Champions League - and will be looking to increase his tally in the upcoming Malaysia Cup.
