The 2019 season is still underway but Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) have shown a big leap compared to previous seasons, just as HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim had predicted. [1/8]
During a fans session at JDT Cafe in August 2018, HRH Tunku told JDT fans that greater things were in store in 2019 - including participation in the AFC Champions League for the first time.

HRH Tunku Ismail had, on social media and in several interviews leading to the start of the 2019 campaign, said the Southern Tigers aspire to continously improve.

The results have been encouraging as the Southern Tigers seek to confirm a sixth straight Malaysia Super League title after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and International break.

JDT are currently 13 points clear of second-placed Pahang, who have a game in hand, with just seven matches to play. JDT are still undefeated in the league too.

Participation in the AFC Champions League, meanwhile, may have ended but JDT raised eyebrows in every match and gave some of the best teams in Asia a run for their money. JDT also defeated Asia's defending champions Kashima Antlers.

New signings Diogo Luis Santo, Mauricio dos Santos Nascimento and the return of Leandro Velazquez have been astute additions alongside the impressive Gonzalo Cabrera and captain Hariss Harun while local youngsters have raised their standard.
