PKNP FC coach Abu Bakar Fadzim was proud of his players after a 1-1 draw with Super League champions and league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in their match at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium.
For Abu Bakar, every point is very important for his side in order to get out from a relegation zone “I can see every player’s commitment to this game tonight and I think players are well aware of the direction of the team.”
Abu Bakar said the match also proved that his troops were not afraid to meet JDT. “I think my players are not afraid to put pressure [and] to challenge the big names. We played our best in [trying] to compete with JDT and tonight we were lucky to have a draw. I hope this momentum will be sustained for us when we meet the next team,” he said.
Terengganu FC (TFC) player, Lee Tuck expressed disappointment after failing to produce the goal through a penalty kick to see his side just shared the points with Melaka United (MU) after being tied 3-3 at the Super League at the Hang Jebat Stadium.
Lee Tuck also apologized to his teammates as well as the fans following the failure to complete the penalty kick when his side had a chance to win. “I’m sorry to all, this is the first time I’ve failed to score through a penalty kick, it’s a lot more to do when the team needs the goal to win. But it’s normal in football, though disappointed, I’m determined to come back more energetic in the next game.”
Praise should be given to teammates because they helped me even though I failed to play well, congratulations for the team,” he added. In the match, Lee Tuck took a penalty kick after he was fouled by Melaka’s defender in the 58th minute but failed to convert the golden opportunity.
