Institusi Kesultanan Johor adalah simbol kepada sebuah perpaduan seluruh rakyat Johor. Sebagai pemerintah negeri, DYMM Sultan Ibrahim mahu mengikuti amalan mendekatkan diri bersama rakyat sepertimana yang telah dilakukan sejak zaman Sultan Sir Abu Bakar lagi.
Akhir kurun ke-19 ketika hubungan jalanraya sedang dibangunkan, Sultan Sir Abu Bakar berangkat ke daerah-daerah menggunakan perjalanan laut. Sungguhpun cabang tugas yang begitu padat, ia tidak mengekang DYMM Sultan Ibrahim, pewaris takhta DYAM Tunku Ismail dan keluarga DiRaja untuk kerap mengadakan pertemuan dengan rakyat.
Baik perjalanan melalui darat, air mahupun udara, keberangkatan baginda secara rasmi mahupun tidak, sentiasa dinantikan rakyat jelata. Kemurahan hati baginda sebagai seorang raja seolah mendidik rakyat agar sentiasa perihatin. Keberangkatan baginda ke masjid, kampung dan bazar Ramadan di setiap daerah bagi menghulur sumbangan dan sedekah adalah kesinambungan amalan yang dilakukan oleh ayahanda dan nenda baginda.
Menerusi Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim, bantuan dari segi pendidikan, perubatan, kebajikan, warga emas dan orang kurang upaya sentiasa dijalankan terus menerus dan tidak bermusim. Keperibadian dan sifat gemar memberi bukan suatu yang baru dalam Keluarga DiRaja Johor. Baginda peka dengan keperluan kaum dan agama serta taraf keperluan rakyat Johor. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

The Johor Sultanate institution is a symbol of unity for all Johor people. As the state ruler, HM Sultan Ibrahim has followed a tradition of being close to the people, which has been practised since the Sultan Sir Abu Bakar era.
At the end of the 19th century when road connections were just starting to be made, Sultan Sir Abu Bakar travelled to other districts by sea. Despite being busy with official duties, it has not stopped HM Sultan Ibrahim, HRH Crown Prince Tunku Ismail and the royal family from meeting the people.
Whether by land, sea or air, His Majesty's arrivals are highly anticipated by the people. His Majesty's generosity as a ruler has helped taught the people to be considerate at all time. His Majesty's presence at mosques, villages and Ramadan bazaars in every district to offer contributions and assistance is a continuation of traditions carried out by His Majesty's ancestors.
Through Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim, contributions for education, health, welfare, senior citizens and the underprivileged have been given constantly. The personality and nature of always giving to the people is not an uncommon trait in the Johor royal family.
