Johor Darul Ta'zim FC's (JDT) AFC Champions League campaign came to an end on Wednesday and the Southern Tigers can look back at a group campaign that won plenty of hearts. [1/6]

Making a debut in the competition, JDT owner HRH Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the Crown Prince of Johor had prior expressed a desire and hope to see the club show competitiveness among Asia's best teams, and that is exactly what JDT have shown.

From showing courage against their more illustrious opponents to controlling possession, stringing plenty of successful passes and troubling defences, JDT did it all to stay in contention for the knockout stages until the final match of the group campaign.

Such was the positiveness that there was even a sense of disappointment for not progressing, a thought not many would have considered at the start of the tournament.

JDT collected four points following a historic win over 2019 AFC Champions League winners Kashima Antlers and a draw with Gyeongnam FC in Larkin. Even when starring at the exit in the Republic of Korea on Wednesday, JDT kept going forward with intent.
