The Southern Tigers showed plenty of faith in youngsters such as Adam Nor Azlin, Afiq Fazail, Nazmi Faiz Mansor, Syamer Kutty Abba, Syafiq Ahmad, Safawi Rasid and Akhyar Rashid - all below 25 and presumably the future of JDT.

Syafiq and Nazmi played in all six group matches, both including two appearances as substitutes, while Afiq started five matches. Safawi made four starts and one off the bench before getting suspended for the final group match.

Adam and Akhyar both had two starts and two off the bench appearances while Syamer started once and was a substitute twice.

The experience gained in Asia's elite competition is expected to play a role in developing and preparing the players further as JDT aspire to continuously raise standards - both locally and on the Asian stage.
