Akhyar, who turns 20 in a couple of weeks, told the Star ahead of the Shopee Piala FA 2019 tie against PKNS that he is as motivated as ever and wants to fight for a place in the starting eleven.

"God willing, I will fight for a starting spot. We are due to play many games this month so I hope my chance will come," said the national Under-23 player according to the Star.

“My motivation is always good. The coach knows what’s best. If used as a sub, in a way it shows that he believes I can change the game with my inclusion.”
