Not only did Johor Darul Ta'zim FC (JDT) show a good performance in a 1-2 loss to AFC Champions League (ACL) defending champions Kashima Antlers but their young players in the 18-man squad also attracted attention. [1/4]

Seven players under 25 years old were listed with four being entrusted to be in the starting line-up. Adam Nor Azlin, Afiq Fazail, Safawi Rasid and Syafiq Ahmad showed a mature performance in putting shackles on their opponents.

JDT made three changes by bringing on Akhyar Rashid, Syamer Kutty Abba and Nazmi Faiz Mansor. Each of them carried out his role brilliantly and displayed a level of maturity and calmness in his playing style.

JDT coaches were brave in setting up the team in such a way and these young stars repaid the faith with an admirable performance. It was the best step for the young stars to promote themselves on the Asian stage.
