Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

INTERESTING FACTS | HISTORY OF JOHOR | JOHOR SULTANATE'S CLOSE TIES WITH MALAY RULERS - PART ONE
The institution of Malay rulers in Malaysia has long existed for hundreds of years throughout the reign of Malay governments. The influx of foreign influence such as Portugal, Netherlands and British during the Malay Sultanate reign has not changed the Sultanate's traditional structure until today.
The Modern Johor Sultanate managed to maintain its independence and prevent tricks from the British who wanted to control its administrative policies and influence all policy executions. The British had to acknowledge the capability of the Modern Johor Sultanate to reign independently and couldn't act more than as a general advisor to the Sultan of Johor.
The formation of the Conference of Malay Rulers further emphasised on the relationship between the rulers for hundreds of years. Formed in 1896, it became an official platform for the Malay rulers to convene for stability and the people's benefits.
The conference underwent changes in 1948. Sultan Sir Ibrahim as the Sultan of Johor at that time became the first Malay ruler to be given the honour of chairing the Conference of Rulers meeting held in Kuala Lumpur that year.
Besides the meeting, the Malay rulers have also exchanged letters until today. In fact, since the early days of Sultan Sir Abu Bakar's reign, all Johor Sultans have exchanged letters with other Malay rulers including from around the region such as Riau, Lingga, Brunei and more.
The close ties between the Johor ruler and other rulers demonstrate the wisdom and civility as a ruler, besides having strong blood relations and family bonds. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
