FAKTA MENARIK | SEJARAH NEGERI JOHOR | KESULTANAN JOHOR MODEN PENCETUS KEMAJUAN BERTERASKAN KEHARMONIAN KAUM - BAHAGIAN SATU
Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

THE MORDERN JOHOR SULTANATE TRIGGERS THE DEVELOPMENT OF RACIAL HARMONY - PART ONE
The Johor state was originally populated by Malays from various settlements such as Orang Seletar, Orang Laut, Orang Riau and others from Malay Archipelago islands. The settlements at that time were in groups and mostly located around rivers and seas.
Temenggong Tun Daing Ibrahim invited the Chinese, Indians, Javanese as well as Malay inhabitants from Kedah, Pahang and Kelantan to emigrate and settle down to develop Johor together with the native people. His Majesty began the Johor development plan by opening cultivation and plantation areas in Johor.
Besides being an investment, Temenggong worked together with the Chinese community in clearing up forest areas around Johor to cultivate gambier and black pepper for commercialisation. Success was achieved when Johor had a monopoly on black pepper and gambier trades in the world.
Sultan Sir Abu Bakar then continued the effort by granting concessions to Ungku Abdul Majid to found Kampung Melayu Majidee and Syed Mohamad Al Sagoff to found and develop the Nong Chik and Kukup areas. His Majesty also gave land concessions to Tan Hiok Nee, Lee Ah Siang and Wong Ah Fook to develop Johor.
Johor's financial position got stronger every day and its development continued to grow, become more unbound and stand out from other Malay states. The various races also worked together to develop Johor and respected the Sultan of Johor's position as the ruler of the Johor government. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
