FAKTA MENARIK | SEJARAH NEGERI JOHOR | KESULTANAN JOHOR MODEN PENCETUS KEMAJUAN BERTERASKAN KEHARMONIAN KAUM - BAHAGIAN DUA
Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

INTERESTING FACTS | HISTORY OF JOHOR | THE MODERN JOHOR SULTANATE TRIGGERS THE DEVELOPMENT OF RACIAL HARMONY - PART TWO
With the progress and economy achieved year by year, many people of different races emigrated to Johor. In 1864, Sultan Sir Abu Bakar launched the Declaration of Economic Independence and founded the Tanjung Puteri Port.
The aim of Sultan Sir Abu Bakar in doing so was to free Johor's economic dependence on Singapore. His Majesty successfully created a trading monopoly on black pepper, gambier and sawmill industry. His Majesty set that all ships coming and leaving Johor must be registered at the Tanjung Puteri Port.
His Majesty's effort freed Johor from depending economically on Singapore. At the same time, His Majesty was very alert and often saw through the British's moves and deceptions. Despite having a good relationship, the British often tried to create a divide between the Palace and the people.
His Majesty, who was very close to the people, advised that the "Concord Is A Blessing" slogan to be used as a spirit and a barrier to prevent racial disunity by colonisers. All subsequent Johor Sultans have continued the practice until today, which is to be close to the people and be people-minded. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
