WHAT HAPPENS AT JDT DURING OFF-SEASON? The 2018 Malaysian season is over. The players and coaches are away on a well-deserved break, but the work at Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) never stops. [1/12]

Many components of the Southern Tigers family are in full force getting ready for the 2019 season, which is set to be extraordinary with AFC Champions League group stage looming for the first time.

1. Stadium and training ground refurbishment
The Tan Sri Dato' Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium and Padang Seri Gelam Training Centre are undergoing refurbishment and maintenance to ensure it remains in excellent condition for the new season.

Among the works carried out are the maintenance of the pitch and all amenities, changing of advertisement boards to include new sponsors and beautifying of the surroundings to give the JDT Family a better feel.

A new pitch similar to the grass at the new Sultan Ibrahim Stadium is also being laid at the training centre to ensure familiarity.

2. Transfer market activity
Changes in the squad are expected and although clubs officials have gone on their break, the wheeling and dealing do not stop.

Having already secured former Lazio centre-back Mauricio dos Santos Nascimento to replace Marcos Antonio, JDT are finalising several other transfers to beef up the squad.

3. Reassessing and planning marketing strategies
The Southern Tigers are continuously evolving and one contributing factor has been the on-going effort to improve the club's branding.

Plans are already underway on how JDT will be marketed to the masses in 2019, including a much-anticipated launch video of the new 2019 Nike home and away kits.

The management is also preparing for new outreach programmes, social media strategies and matchday activities for the fans.

4. Keeping tabs on JDT players on international duty
The well-being and performance of JDT players on international duty are continuously monitored. JDT have eight players competing at the ongoing AFF Suzuki Cup.

The Southern Tigers have seven players in the Malaysia set-up while captain Hariss Harun leads the Singapore squad.
