STEPS TO BE TAKEN WHEN SUFFERING FACIAL INJURY Facial injuries often happen to footballers. Broken nose, skin tears around the eyes and eyebrow areas, and concussion are some of the injuries that can happen on the pitch. [1/7]

Here are the steps that should be taken if a player is having a facial injury and bleeding profusely.
• Step 1 - Carry the injured player off the pitch to examine the extent of an injury in detail.
[2/7]
• Step 2 - Remove dirt from the wound with clean water. Cold water can help constrict blood vessels and stop the bleeding. [3/7]

• Step 3 - Apply pressure to the wound with a piece of cotton for 20-30 seconds. Lift it up to check if there is still bleeding. Apply vaseline cream if the bleeding has reduced. [4/7]

• Step 4 - Put a few pieces of cotton and tie them firmly together to prevent them from falling apart but do not cause more pain to the player. [5/7]
Regardless, a player will not be allowed to continue playing if any bone fracture is detected. The player needs to be sent to the hospital immediately for further action by doctors. [6/7]
