FAKTA MENARIK | SEJARAH NEGERI JOHOR | HUBUNGAN AKRAB KESULTANAN JOHOR DAN RAKYAT BUKAN PERKARA ASING - BAHAGIAN SATU
Melihat kemesraan Kesultanan Johor dan rakyat sama ada dalam acara rasmi mahupun tidak di segenap kawasan, mukim dan daerah bukan suatu perkara yang asing dan janggal buat rakyat Johor.
Sekitar awal tahun 70an, Sultan Iskandar gemar membawa keluarga menjelajah ke seluruh negeri Johor bertemu rakyat. Mengikuti jejak langkah ayahandanya, DYMM Sultan Ibrahim sewaktu menjadi Tunku Mahkota Johor turut melakukan jelajah rakyat sejak awal 80an.
Baginda kemudian memperkemaskannya lagi melalui program Kembara Mahkota Johor sejak tahun 2001. Jurang antara rakyat dan Keluarga Diraja Johor seakan tidak kelihatan malah ia bukan satu perkara baharu kerana sudah dilakukan oleh Kesultanan Johor sejak lebih dari seratus tahun.
Ketika pemerintahan Sultan Sir Abu Bakar dan Sultan Sir Ibrahim, kemajuan negeri Johor yang pesat membangun dari pelbagai sudut ketika itu menjadi antara penyebab kepada sokongan tidak berbelah bahagi rakyat kepada raja.
Setiap kali keberangkatan baginda melakukan tugas sebagai pemerintah tertinggi, pastinya akan dipenuhi dengan pelbagai kaum berhimpun untuk mengucapkan selamat dan diiringi ucapan doa.
Keberangkatan pulang baginda pula turut dinanti ramai rakyat yang setia berbaris di jeti hentian kapal berhadapan Istana Besar Johor ketika itu sambil mengucapkan selamat kembali kepada baginda serta mengaminkan doa selamat oleh Mufti Kerajaan. Jelas ia lambang kasih dan penghargaan dari rakyat buat Kesultanan Johor. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

The intimacy between the Johor Sultanate and the people whether at an official function or in any area, territory and district is not something strange and unexpected for the Johor people.
In the early 70s, Sultan Iskandar enjoyed bringing the family around Johor to meet the people. Following in the footsteps was HM Sultan Ibrahim who, during the time as Crown Prince of Johor, did tours in the early 80s.
His Majesty then improved it through the Kembara Mahkota Johor programme in 2001. The gap between the people and the Johor Royal Family is almost invisible, which is not surprising as it has been practiced by the Johor Sultanate for over a hundred years.
During the reigns of Sultan Sir Abu Bakar and Sultan Sir Ibrahim, the rapid development of Johor in various aspects prompted undivided support of the people for the rulers.
When the Sultans went out to carry out the duty as the highest leader, surely it would gather people of different races to give well wishes and prayers.
When the Sultans returned, it would attract the people to the jetty facing the Johor Grand Palace to welcome the Sultans home and recite prayers alongside the government's mufti. Clearly it was a show of love and appreciation by the people for the Johor Sultanate. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
