Keikhlasan DYMM Sultan Johor, DYAM Tunku Mahkota Johor serta seluruh Keluarga Diraja dalam menyantuni rakyat telah memperlihatkan keikhlasan, keprihatinan, sikap mengambil berat dan rasa kasih kepada seluruh Bangsa Johor. Ia telah menjadi identiti turun temurun sejak lebih 160 tahun lagi.
Negeri Johor terbina atas dasar penyatuan rakyat yang mendukung kedaulatan rajanya yang sentiasa meletakkan rakyat dan negeri sebagai keutamaan. Ia merupakan amanah yang perlu digalas sejak dari awal pemerintahan Sultan Sir Abu Bakar lagi sekitar tahun 1860an.
Sedari itu, Sultan Johor selaku ketua kerajaan dan negeri meletakkan kepentingan rakyat sebagai agenda utama dalam membangunkan negeri Johor hingga kemakmuran dan kesejahteraannya dapat dikecapi hingga ke hari ini.
Kesultanan Johor tidak hanya bertakhta sebagai simbolik kewujudan sebuah kerajaan, tetapi turut serta bersama kerajaan dalam mensejahterakan rakyat. Perkara ini diterjemahkan dalam pelbagai lawatan mengejut baginda ke segenap pelusuk negeri yang sudah terlalu sinonim dan amat difahami oleh sekelian rakyat Johor.
Tujuannya adalah supaya segala permasalahan rakyat dapat disampaikan kepada baginda dalam suasana yang santai. Istilah “Awak mesti letak diri lebih rendah daripada rumput” merupakan pesanan Sultan Iskandar yang sentiasa menjadi pegangan DYMM Tuanku dan DYAM Tunku Mahkota. Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

The sincerity of HM Sultan of Johor, HRH Crown Prince of Johor and the entire Royal Family in helping the people has demonstrated their genuineness, concern, compassion and love for Bangsa Johor. It has been a hereditary identity for over 160 years.
The Johor state has been built on the unity of the people supporting the sovereignty of their ruler, who has always put the people and state as a priority. It is a duty that has been undertaken since the beginning of the reign of Sultan Sir Abu Bakar in the 1860s.
As such, the Sultan of Johor as the head of government and state has placed the people’s interest as the main agenda in developing the Johor state until its prosperity and affluence can be achieved to this day.
The Johor Sultanate does not only symbolise the existence of a government but also works with the government in prospering the people. This can be seen from various surprise visits made by His Majesty to all parts of the state, which has become synonymous and well understood by the Johor people.
The purpose is to ensure all problems being faced by the people can be conveyed to His Majesty in a relaxed environment. The phrase “Awak mesti letak diri lebih rendah daripada rumput” (you must place yourself lower than the grass) is a message from Sultan Iskandar that has been held in high regard by HM Tuanku and HRH Crown Prince.
