Sultan Johor sejak dahulu lagi terkenal akan kebijaksanaannya dalam mengambil ruang terhadap sesuatu perkara demi menyatukan rakyat Johor. Kegemaran bermotosikal yang diinspirasikan sejak zaman Sultan Iskandar menyaksikan rakyat Johor kerap melihat baginda melawat sendiri sekitar Johor menunggang motosikal melakukan lawatan mengejut ke pejabat-pejabat dan jabatan kerajaan negeri.
Sultan Iskandar bukan sahaja cekap menunggang motosikal berkuasa tinggi di atas jalan raya dan litar malah baginda juga mahir menyelenggara, membuka dan memasang balik bahagian-bahagian kenderaan tersebut. Ini kerana baginda amat berpengetahuan dalam kejuruteraan teknikal.
Idea Kembara Mahkota Johor yang diilhamkan oleh DYMM Sultan Ibrahim hasil cetusan idea ayahanda baginda turut menyaksikan penggunaan motosikal berkuasa besar menjelajah seluruh pelusuk negeri Johor bagi bertemu, mendengar dan mengambil tindakan terhadap aduan serta masalah yang dihadapi oleh rakyat.
Menjadi rutin harian DYMM Sultan Ibrahim akan bermotosikal ‘kapcai’ menyantun pekerja-pekerja sekeliling istana dan kadangkala keluar daripada pagar istana hanya untuk menyapa rakyat yang kebetulan berada di kawasan tersebut. DYAM Mejar Jeneral Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Mahkota Johor berkongsi minat dan kegemaran yang sama seperti nenda dan ayahanda baginda.
DYAM Tunku Mahkota Johor juga seringkali memanfaatkan peluang menjalankan tugas baginda dengan bermotosikal seperti menghadiri mesyuarat atau perjumpaan bersama rakyat. Malah menjadi perkara biasa bagi rakyat melihat baginda bermotosikal menunaikan solat di Masjid Pasir Pelangi.
Apa juga sejarah yang terukir dari sentuhan Keluarga Diraja Johor pasti menjadi kebanggaan Bangsa Johor seluruhnya. Sultan Iskandar was always known for His Majesty's brilliance in taking a personal interest in things that can unite Johor people. The passion for motorcycling since the era of Sultan Iskandar saw the Johor people often seeing His Majesty personally travel around Johor by motorcycle and make surprise visits to the state government's departments and offices.
Sultan Iskandar was not only good in riding high performance motorcycles on the road and track but was also an expert in fixing, dissembling and reassembling motor components. It was because His Majesty was highly knowledgeable in technical engineering.
The idea of Kembara Mahkota Johor by HM Sultan Ibrahim, which was inspired by His Majesty's father, saw high performance motorcycles being used to travel around Johor to meet, listen and take action on complaints and problems faced by the people.
It has become a routine for HM Sultan Ibrahim to ride on a 'kapcai' motorcycle to mingle with staff around the palace and sometimes outside palace gates to meet the people who are coincidentally in the area. HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor, also shares the same interest and passion as His Royal Highness' grandfather and father.
HRH Crown Prince of Johor also sometimes takes an opportunity to conduct His Royal Highness' duties by motorcycle such as attending meetings or gatherings with the people. It has become a common sight for the people to see His Royal Highness ride a motorcycle to go for prayers at the Pasir Pelangi Mosque.
Every mark left in history by the Johor Royal Family is surely the pride of Bangsa Johor.
