As a football club, Johor Darul Ta’zim has never stopped growing, largely due to the vision of HRH Major General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Crown Prince of Johor who has stopped at nothing to put Johor on the football map. Thread 1/10
Ever-improving in various aspects such as infrastructure and the support system, the Crown Prince of Johor is a man that has never stopped working on ways to get the best out of JDT and take the club beyond Malaysia.
Thread 2/10
The 2015 AFC Cup triumph was a cornerstone to the club’s success. Multiple Malaysia Super League titles later, JDT are set to be the first Malaysian side to play Asia’s premier club competition, the AFC Champions League next year.
Thread 3/10
A new stadium is expected to open in 2019 and other facilities will only get better in coming years as the work never stops – all courtesy of the persistence and diligence of Tunku Ismail.
Thread 4/10
The fans have a duty too, which is filling up the stadium for every match. The importance of a filled stadium cannot be underestimated.
Thread 5/10
A packed stadium brings about an atmosphere that can only spur the JDT players to ensure the Larkin Stadium remains a fortress. Financially, fans’ attendance has a great significance too.
Thread 6/10
The lack of fans attending matches may lead to reduced sponsorship because it is a number game. The bigger the following a particular sport, club or organisation has, the better prospects of securing sponsorship deals.
Thread 7/10
Behind the scenes, Tunku Ismail has never stopped emphasising the need to keep the fans happy. It was the fans that first asked Tunku Ismail to “save Johor football”, something that kicked off an incredible football club that JDT are today.
Thread 8/10
The fans too need to reciprocate by filling up the Larkin Stadium consistently. It will be the envy of many if the stadium is filled to the brim in every match.
Thread 9/10
Reduced attendance could even spell the end of everything as the JDT fans are among the pillars of success in Johor.
Thread 10/10
HRH Tunku Ismail has had multiple sessions with the JDT fans, taking their feedback and giving it due consideration. HRH never sees these fan sessions as a burden and gladly meets the fans from time to time.
I would suggest for JDT to hold engagement sessions with the supporters. Get feedbacks & suggestions for improvement.
Doesn’t have to be in JB.Reach out to other districts as well & there’s no need to burden The Owner to come to the events. I’m sure others can take this up.
